"It's dork" ~Gaetano, after turning off the lights.

Ever since I started this blog, I've wanted a section called "Gaetano Said". I've just never got around to it. I've decided that I'll just take advantage of the blog categories feature until I get the chance to do it right, and then I'll filter out those entries eventually. Otherwise I'll never get all the cute things he says online...

Every Friday I pick Gaetano up from school and we usually go shopping for necessities. When he's a good boy, I usually get him a small toy. This time it was the Play-Doh George Foreman Grill. We played with it this morning for a whole hour and had so much fun. It even makes sizzling noises!
We would make chicken, fish, steak, or hamburger, then flip the plates over so that they're ready to make grill marks. It's really a cool little toy. You can even use it to make french fries, bacon, and hot dogs. It was so much fun that I may have enjoyed it more than him!
The most exciting part for me though, was when Gaetano started counting the grill marks. It was the very first time he has counted to 10 all by himself with no prompting or help. Of course I promptly smothered him with tons of kisses and encouragment. :-)

Not sure who discoverred this originally... Try it: While sitting take your right foot and make clockwise circles and then trace the number 6 in the air with your right hand. Your foot will start going in the opposite direction. My solution? Draw the 6 in reverse. :-)

Gaetano and I made some more Play-Doh art together a couple of days ago. Together we made a miniature orange, a carrot and a snow pea. I also made a yellow rose. You can find pictures of our fun with Play-Doh in the Artwork photo album. Enjoy!

I've always been confused about when to use "it's" and when to use "its". Finally, I've figured out that it's backwards. Usually an apostrophe then the letter s ('s) means possesion. No, not in the case of the word it. It's means it is or it has. When there is possesion involved like "on its side", there is no apostrophe. I figured I'd post this because I'm probably not the only one who's confused this. Oh no... now I am going to have to think about who's vs. whose. I'm pretty sure I use that correctly, and the same lack of apostrophe applies for possesiveness. I'm trying to improve my grammar, but thank goodness for copy editors. :-)

For the last few days this site, and all of my others have been offline due to a DoS (Denial of Service) attack. If you've sent me email in the last 4 days I may not have gotten it, so please feel free to send it again and I'll get back to you as quick as I can.

Not a problem. Just beware: you are in a maze of twisty little standards, all alike.
Hehehehe :-) Good one! ~Angela
