Three people – who could have checked the source code because they know how – have asked me already if the navigation on the left is Menu Magic 1, by Project Seven. No, it's not Menu Magic 1. :-) If you don't believe me choose View » Source.
Menu Magic 1 is a great extension and I use it on the current version of Site-Drive.com. Actually the new DWmommy menu was done for the upcoming new version of DWfaq.com. I liked it so much that I decided to use it here too. Dan and I are still refining the JavaScript and CSS. Eventually I'll be making an extension out of the final code. Of course, I'll talk about it here first...

.. why does everyone who use DW think any DHTML menu they see *must* be Menu Magic???
Oh I just figured it out, probably because 99% of DW users are too lazy to learn JavaScript or any other language, but still have the nerve to call themselves 'web developers' ;)
Nice code Angela, very lean and clean :)
Hey, I use MM1 on my web development site! :-) (Well I do for now at least... I'm too lazy to change it!) To a certain extent I do agree with you in that DW users get a bit lazy and rely too much on what DW writes or extensions output, never really learning how it all works. However, sometimes that's the only way as we can't learn everything – at least I know I can't. Menu Magic is extremely popular and "cool" so I am pleased that people think it looks like it, and seem to like our menu too. ;-) (Ours doesn't even slide in though...)

Thanks for the kind words regarding the code. However credit isn't mine... The menu is mostly Dan's doing so far. To make it more universal and versatile, it will need some more work. This is where Dan says "I'll let you do that part". That's teamwork for ya!

Hmm... Menu Magic 2 perhaps... or 3, 4 or so?
OK, when (if) my nieces let me use my Mac for longer, I will play with it.
BTW, didn't I say once that CSS is an EVIL?! We were so lucky without style sheets :-)

Nah, Menu Magic is Project Seven's trademark.:-) We'll think of a cool name I'm sure.
Thanks for taking a look. Hopefully I'll get a peek at it on a MAC this week at TODCON. CSS isn't evil, but <font> tags are! ~Angela
