Preface: Gaetano will oftern refuse an item insisting on having "the other one". He'll cry and whine until he gets it too.
Me: Why is it that kids will want another thing that is identical to the one they have, instead of the one they already have?
Dan: Cause he's a toddler, and he has micro-difference vision. You lose that around 4 or 5.
Conclusion: I think Dan may be right. :-)
