I'm sick...

Yes, I caught Gaetano's cold. My throat hurts... Gatano says, Mama no work. Mama sit. Mama sick. Hugs? So I'm going to do as he wishes and take the night off until his daddy comes home. I want *my* mommy :-(. She made me cookies and I ate all of them already... Mom's bringing more tomorrow. I love mom.

Gaetano's sick

After giving Gaetano his cough medicine last night, he started coughing more (as expected). However the poor little guy was not sleeping comfortably, coughing every couple minutes. I decided he needed to sleep semi-upright to allow the drainage to go past his throat so he would cough less. How do you get a 2 yr. old to do this? You can't just prop 'em up on pillows and expect them to stay that way. So, mama propped him up on his inflatable car bed and slept there with him last night, scooting him back up every time he scooted down. No coughing as long as he was elevated, and I would wake by his cough the moment he slid to a flat position. I'm exhausted, but I'll do this every night until his cough supresses. I can't help but think there's got to be a better way...

Happy New Year

Belated Happy New Year! :-) Better late wishes than never right?

I've been busy busy lately, hence the lack of posts (although I'm pretty good about posting regularly even when I'm swamped). Gaetano is going through a clingy phase -- especially since he has a cold. All day long I hear his sweet little voice say things like: Mama come sit. I want you to sit. Mama kiss? Shake hands? I want a hug. I want to hold you. I want a kiss *now*. Hug, please? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease, I want a kiss. (I think you get the point.) I don't mind it at all, although it hasn't been very good for my productivity lately!

Yesterday I got an email from someone that read my interview in Inside Dreamweaver MX. It is the second email I've gotten from that interview. This one made my day though. The person who wrote was looking for a way to inspire his wife to get into web development with him. She felt she needed schooling to do so though. He felt my interview was just what he needed to show her that "all anyone needs is a strong will and some guidance". He's right! :-) It's emails like that which keep me going and make what I do worthwhile.
