For a little over a year now, I've noticed that my left and right eyes each see color differently. At my optometry appointment last February, it was recommended that I see a specialist, and that what I experience is a common early symptom of Multiple Sclerosis. It wasn't until recently that I finally went to get checked. Last Thursday I saw the opthalmologist and he was stumped. He ordered some tests which I completed the day before yesterday. The results looked normal, but he had me see the retinal/optical nerve specialist. All tests he did were normal as well; no logical explanation for the difference in color vision. He doesn't think it is Multiple Sclerosis since I lack other symptoms and passed the visual field test. At this point, the only thing left to do would be an MRI, but he didn't feel it was necessary or that it would reveal any problems, and left the decision to me. I've opted not to take the test, and will happily live not knowing the cause of my problem. I'm supposed to go back in about 6 months for another visual field test, or if other symptoms appear. Needless to say, I'm quite relieved at the outcome and hope I never need to question the origin of my color vision issue again.
