Well folks, it looks like I'll be having my tonsils removed completely. I could do the laser cryptology again, but there's no guarantee it will work and I could be unhappy with how my tonsils feel afterwards.
It took some getting used to how the tonsils felt after the first procedure. The left tonsil wiggles bumping my throat sometimes and it is a bit annoying.
Doing laser cryptology again means that I could be left with part of a tonsil wiggling in the back of my throat. Just the thought of that sounds irritating to me, so bye bye tonsils. I'd rather have them gone completely than potentially have a tonsil flopping around all the time in my throat.
I don't know when the procedure will be yet, but it won't be until late April or early May. Naturally, when I know I will blog...
UPDATE: I get my tonsils out on April 27th at 7:30am PST, outpatient surgery by the same doctor who did the laser cryptology.

Angela,
Back in 2004, you reported some calcification of your rib cage. Could you elaborate on what you found out. I am interested in your symptoms that started the look at your ribs, the diagnosis, and your age (make it rough if you want;-)
My wife has been having pains in her chest and the Dr. is having different tests done. The xrays show calcification in your ribs or the cartilage between the ribs (still waiting for official reading). We don't know what it is or what can cause this. I was hoping you could shed some light on what you found out.
Thanks,
John
Hi John,
They did a bone scan, but suspected that it was the parathyroid since it is what controls calcium. Tests came back with everything being ok, and there was no signs of problems from bloodwork. The one thing that most of my health issues have had in common is calcium, but doctors assure me everything is fine.
Feel free to email me directly about this somemore, perhaps other info we can share might help. Perhaps what your wife finds out may give me some insights and help me get some answers (finally!).
Thanks for writing, and I hope everything turns out well for you and your wife.
